BIBLICAL VERSES ON SATAN:

SATAN

GEN 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the
LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not
eat from any tree in the garden'?"

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman.

5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you
will be like God, knowing good and evil."

COMMENTARY: SEE HOW CRAFTY, CLEVER AND INSINUATING EVIL IS?
IT TRIES TO JUSTIFY ANY ACTION AGAINST THE WILL OF GOD AS GOOD.


14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
"Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will
crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.

15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your
offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."


COMMENTARY: EVIL ACTION DEFINITELY INHERITS CURSE FROM GOD


1SA 16:14 Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil
spirit from the LORD tormented him.

COMMENTARY: WHEN THE SPIRIT OF GOD DEPARTS FROM A PERSON,
EVIL WILL TAKE POSSESSION OF THAT PERSON.

2SA 23:6 But evil men are all to be cast aside like thorns, which are not
gathered with the hand.

COMMENTARY: EVIL MEN ARE LIKE TRASH TO GOD.


7 Whoever touches thorns uses a tool of iron or the shaft of a spear; they
are burned up where they lie."

COMMENTARY: WHOEVER CONTACTS WITH EVIL HAS RISK OF CONTAMINATION.


JOB 1:6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and
Satan also came with them.

7 The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the
LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."

9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied.

10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything
he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and
herds are spread throughout the land.

11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will
surely curse you to your face."

12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your
hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out
from the presence of the LORD.

2:3 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job?
There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who
fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you
incited me against him to ruin him without any reason."

4 "Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man will give all he has for his own
life.

5 But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will
surely curse you to your face."

6 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you
must spare his life."

7 So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with
painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.

COMMENTARY: SATAN ALSO ACTS AS AN EXTERNAL AGENT ACCUSING MEN
WHOM GOD HAS AFFECTION.

HE TESTS MEN IF THEY ARE WORTHY OF GOD'S AFFECTION OR NOT.

SATAN ACCUSES MEN BEFORE GOD, AND SEES TO IT THAT MEN
WHOM GOD ENDEARS GETS INTO TROUBLE.


ZEC 3:1 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel
of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.

2 The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD, who has
chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from
the fire?"

COMMENTARY: SATAN ACCUSSES MEN BEFORE GOD.
BUT THE LORD, IN HIS MERCY, DOES SNATCHES CERTAIN PEOPLE FROM THE FIRE OF DAMNATION.


MAT 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by
the devil.

2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.

3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these
stones to become bread."

4 Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but
on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the
highest point of the temple.

6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is
written: "'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift
you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a
stone.'"

7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God
to the test.'"

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the
kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship
me."

10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship
the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"

11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

COMMENTARY: THE LORD JESUS CHRIST SHOWED US THE WAY HOW TO DEAL WITH OUR OWN
INTERNAL SATAN. WHEN HE CAME TO FLESH, HE IS ALSO SUBJECTED TO THE DEVIL WITHIN.
HE SHOWED US THAT WE CAN ALSO RESIST THE DEVIL WITHIN.


13:19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not
understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his
heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

COMMENTARY: THE INTERNAL SATAN DOES THINGS SO THAT THE MESSAGE
OF GOD'S KINGDOM DOES NOT REACH A MAN'S HEART.


30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the
harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned;
then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'"

COMMENTARY: GOD LETS BOTH EVIL AND GOOD IN THE WORLD GROW AS IS,
TILL THE TIME OF GOD'S HARVEST.

38 The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the
kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,

39 and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the
age, and the harvesters are angels.

COMMENTARY: THIS IS AN EXPLANATION PROVIDED ABOUT THE FIELD,
THE GOOD SEED, THE WEEDS, THE HARVEST, AND THE HARVESTERS.


25:41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are
cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

COMMENTARY: THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO DO EVIL ARE CURSED,
AND WILL SUFFER ETERNAL FIRE IN THE END.


44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your
father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the
truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native
language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

COMMENTARY: THOSE WHO DO EVIL WORKS ARE THE SONS OF THE DEVIL...


ACT 5:3 Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your
heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some
of the money you received for the land?

COMMENTARY: SATAN DOES FILL THE HEARTS OF PERSONS
WHOM SUCH PERSONS ALLOW SATAN TO MANIPULATE THEM.

13:10 "You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is
right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never
stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?

COMMENTARY: THOSE WHO PERVERT THE RIGHT WAYS OF THE LORD ARE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL,
AND ENEMY OF EVERYTHING THAT IS RIGHT.


26:18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from
the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and
a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

COMMENTARY: THERE IS A CHANCE TO TURN AWAY FROM THE POWER OF SATAN.
IT IS OFFERED THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.


ROM 16:20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The
grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

COMMENTARY: THE GOD OF PEACE HAS THE POWER TO CRUSH SATAN....
AND GIVE THIS POWER UNTO THE CHILDREN OF GOD...


4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they
cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image
of God.

COMMENTARY: THE GOD OF THIS AGE IS SATAN, WHO BLINDS THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE FAITH...
SO THAT THEY MAY NOT BE DELIVERED THROUGH CHRIST JESUS...


14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of
righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

COMMENTARY: SATAN DECEIVES, EVEN MASKING HIMSELF AS GOOD...EVEN HIS CHILDREN...


12:7 To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly
great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of
Satan, to torment me.

COMMENTARY: GOD USES SATAN TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM BEING CONCEITED AND SELF RIGHTEOUS...

EPH 4:27 and do not give the devil a foothold.

6:11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against
the devil's schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and
against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done
everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with
the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel
of peace.

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you
can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

COMMENTARY: THESE VERSES GIVES US CLUES HOW TO RESIST THE EVIL ONE....
BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE...

7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not
fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.

COMMENTARY: THE DEVIL USES TRAPS TO SNARE THE FAITHFUL...
THIS IS DONE BY THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL, BY DESTROYING THE CREDIBILITY
OR REPUTATION OF THOSE WHO SERVE GOD TO FALL INTO DISGRACE...

THEREFORE, IT IS ALSO ADVISED TO KEEP A GOOD REPUTATION WITH OUTSIDERS OF THE
CHURCH OF GOD...IF ABLE... AS CAUTION FROM THE DEVIL'S TRAP...


5:15 Some have in fact already turned away to follow Satan.

COMMENTARY:THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO FOLLOW SATAN...


2TI 2:26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap
of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

COMMENTARY: THOSE WHO REALIZE THE TRUTH WILL ESCAPE SATAN'S TRAP...

HEB 2:14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their
humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of
death--that is, the devil--

COMMENTARY: THROUGH THE DEATH OF CHRIST JESUS, THE ONE WHO HOLDS THE POWER OF DEATH-
WHICH IS THE DEVIL, IS DESTROYED.


JAM 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will
flee from you.

COMMENTARY: SUBMITTING TO GOD'S WILL AND RESISTING THE DEVIL
WILL KEEP ONE FROM THE EVIL ONE.


1PE 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around
like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

COMMENTARY: SELF CONTROL AND ALERTNESS IS NEEDED TO GUARD AGAINST THE DEVIL.


3:8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been
sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to
destroy the devil's work.

10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of
the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God;
nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

COMMENTARY: THOSE WHO DO EVIL IS OF THE DEVIL...
THOSE WHO DO GOOD IS OF GOD...

THE SON OF GOD CAME TO THIS WORLD TO DESTROY THE DEVIL'S WORKS.
